What is your geographical service area?

Our service area primarily covers Northern and Central California. This includes the nine Bay Area counties - Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano and Sonoma as well as Mendocino, Santa Cruz and Monterey on the coast.

We are also available to travel as necessary to Shasta, Butte, Yuba, Sutter, Nevada, Placer, Sacramento, San Joaquin and San Luis Obispo counties.

How many samples should I test?

The recommended number of samples will depend on the project size and the differing types of soil onsite. For MWELO compliance for a single-family residence, only one sample is normally required. It can often be beneficial to take multiple soil samples, mix them together and run a composite test to get better coverage of a large, uniform area. If you are troubleshooting a problem area, we often recommend testing plant tissue for disease instead of, or in addition to, testing soil; it can be easier to identify disease issues in the plant itself than in the surrounding soil.

How much will it cost for a soils report?

Can I take the samples myself?

Unless it is specified that a third party is required to collect the samples, you can definitely take soil samples yourself. Please contact us directly for sampling instructions.

My plants keep dying. Can you help?

Yes! We can determine if the problem is related to causes such as poor soil chemistry, disease issues, poor drainage or construction contamination.

How do I send in samples for testing?

I am concerned about contamination from: sewage, PCBs, VOCs, petroleum. Can you help?

No. These and any other human health-related concerns should be discussed with an environmental testing lab. There are many options for these throughout the Bay Area. Our services and qualifications are oriented towards plant and landscape health.

I need a geotechnical soils report. Can you help?

No. Geotechnical testing and reporting require a geotechnical lab and there are many throughout the Bay Area. If you need testing services related to building a structure this would fall under the geotechnical category.

Can you prune my trees for me?

No, arborist services provided are consulting only. Recommendations for qualified professionals are available with consultations.
